Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Groupy (“Groupy”, “we”, “us”) for using the Groupy website and app. By creating an account, joining a trip, or otherwise using Groupy, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Groupy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
What Groupy is
Groupy helps a group plan a trip together: people suggest plans, react to them, and agree on one shared plan. It includes an AI assistant, search for places, stays, and transport, and a way to track who paid for what.
Groupy doesn’t sell travel, take payments, or make bookings. When you book something you found through Groupy, you book it with that seller, under their terms.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13, and old enough to use online services without a parent’s permission where you live. If you use Groupy for an organization, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms for it.
Your account
- Give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- If you join a trip as a guest, your access lives in that browser. Clearing its data or switching devices can lose it, unless you add an email or Google sign-in.
Trips and invite links
The person who creates a trip is its organizer. Organizers can manage the trip, decide proposals, reset the invite link, and delete the trip with everything in it. Anyone with a trip’s invite link can join it while the trip has room, so share links only with people you want on the trip.
Group decisions follow the trip’s rules, and some proposals can be added to the plan automatically once enough of the group agrees or nobody objects in time. Check the plan before you book or pay for anything.
Your content
You own what you add to Groupy, like trip details, comments, and messages. You give us permission to store, display, and process it as needed to run Groupy for you and the people on your trips, including sending it to our service providers, such as the AI providers that produce the assistant’s replies. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain in backups for a limited time.
Only add content you have the right to share, and remember that everyone on a trip can see what you add to it.
The Groupy assistant
The assistant’s suggestions are generated by AI and can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. It doesn’t book anything, and it can only suggest changes for your group to decide on. Check anything important yourself, including prices, opening hours, visa and entry rules, and safety information.
Prices and travel information
Prices, availability, ratings, and travel times come from other websites and services and are shown as they were when checked. They can change at any time, and some are estimates. The seller’s price and terms at the time you book are what count.
Splitting costs
Budgets, expenses, and balances in Groupy are a record to help your group keep track. Groupy doesn’t move money, and settling up is between you and the people on your trip.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Groupy to:
- break the law or anyone’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property;
- harass, threaten, or post hateful, sexual, or violent content about others;
- share someone else’s personal information without their permission;
- send spam, or impersonate anyone;
- access accounts or trips that aren’t yours, probe or break our security, or interfere with how Groupy runs;
- scrape Groupy, use automated means to send large numbers of requests, or resell or copy the service;
- try to make the assistant produce harmful content, or use its output to build a competing product.
Our service
Groupy is offered free of charge for now. We may add paid features later, and we’ll tell you before anything you use starts to cost money. We’re always improving Groupy, so features may change or be removed, and it may sometimes be unavailable.
Groupy, its design, and its software belong to us and our licensors. These terms don’t give you any right to our name, logo, or brand.
Ending your use
You can stop using Groupy at any time, and ask us to delete your account at the contact details on this site. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we’re required to by law, or if your use puts others or Groupy at risk. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you first.
Disclaimers
Groupy is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. We aren’t responsible for the travel products, websites, or services of others, or for the decisions your group makes.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Groupy won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or travel costs, arising from your use of Groupy. Our total liability for any claim about Groupy is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above, and if the changes are significant we’ll tell you in Groupy or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Groupy after that, you accept the new terms.
